Children always experience the brunt of injustice in situations of suffering. Yet they remain the most silenced and thus continue to be vulnerable. We want to expose injustices facing children so that intervention can take place on their bahalf.
If you or someone you know is aware of an injustice facing children that needs to be exposed, please report these observations to Discover The Journey to help us carry out our task of speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. It is the first step to seeing that they get justice.
Though awareness and exposure can do much to end or prevent injustice for children at-risk, often injustices children are facing are so grave and evil they need to be addressed with legal or criminal action. Discover The Journey's role is to incite awareness on behalf of children at-risk which can often begin and help sustain advocacy efforts, however we also work with other human rights organizations to ferry information of injustices to their attention so they can work to address them from a legal angle. Once the story is known, Discover The Journey works to connect these issues to Human Rights organizations and other intervention partners who can take an advocacy or legal stand against the perpetrators and oppressors. This is crucial to see the ending of specific injustices for children living in-crisis.
Note: Discover The Journey will hold all cases of child exploitation, abuse in any form, and any sensitive information related to such cases such as their face, their real names etc in absolute confidentiality. Our priority is children being protected and loved. Telling stories comes secondary and is only done when it would benefit the child. We always tell stories of children in-crisis according to our strict child protection policies.
Please email us with any injustices/situations of suffering you are aware of for children finding themselves at risk. Report**
**Though Discover The Journey would still like to be informed of these injustices to assist in ferrying them to Human Rights and Legal Professionals who can handle the case in a correct and prompt manner, we are not lawyers. If you know of serious and urgent injustices, we recommend also reporting such things directly to human rights agencies, lawyers, trusted governmental or law officials or other advocates in these situations.
Please consider reporting a case of injustice needing legal advocacy if found outside of the United States to International Justice Mission. |
