1 in every 4 children in the United States is at risk of hunger or is food insecure. 1 in every 4. DTJ is working with Share Our Strength to tell this story. Share Our Strength works across the United States to combat this figure by creating access to meal programs, elevating nutrition education and much more. Though the issue of hunger and poverty in America has been hidden well, the affects on children are the same. Access to nutrition is a basic human right and one that escapes millions of children in the United States every year. DTJ is honored to tell this story. DTJ’s photographer Lindsay Branham has already been to New Mexico and Colorado to document the story and over the next few months DTJ will be in more locations capturing the human and intimate story of hunger and what is being done to solve it. DTJ will complete a series of multi-media pieces following the lives of individual children and highlighting solutions. Follow us as we seek to elevate the voices of children on the frontlines of this crisis.
